Developing an Attractive Digital Storyboard Application
BACKGROUND :
Digital publishing has ushered a whole new value chain for businesses where they can publish material without printing and shipping costs. As content goes digital, what are book publishers worried about? At the highest level, making books work for target consumers.
CHALLENGE :
The client who is a pioneer in early-literacy publication was seeking a new revenue stream to grow their business. They needed a powerful and very user friendly book reader application to reach out to young readers to help them develop strong literacy skills and love for reading. The basic need was to design the best learning experience via iPad. The client wanted to develop a unique approach to teach children reading properly.
We were expected to create an engaging application that provides interesting stories and teaching materials targeted to a specific audience. We decided to design the most innovative book reader application preloaded with free illustrated and photographed books with voiceover functionality.
SOLUTIONS :
Understanding the needs of the client, we delivered a fascinating book reader application preloaded with free illustrated and photographed books having audio facility which can also be turned off as the children begin to read themselves. We developed an application which is ideal for children with special needs and English language learners. We assisted client in defining the strategy and processes for managing their workflow. We implemented a web publishing environment to update new books on the fly to the application.
RESULTS :
- Using web based content management system; publisher can effortlessly publish new books to the application.
- Utilizing the Push Notification system, publisher can easily communicate and convey messages to app users.
- We built an application that gave publication and education industries a very innovative outlook. The application has marked strong influence across the publishing industry.
- Books in the application are labeled from easiest to most challenging which makes it very simple for parents to teach children reading. The idea of this application became very successful as the reading learners can easily build their fluency and comprehension skills using it.
