Impacts of Google’s Brand New Function “Search Plus Your World”

Once again Google has revised its search functionality with an addition of a search personalization feature called – Search Plus Your World.

This service by Google allows users to see personalized search results that also include their friends in Google+ [social network by Google] along with people, pages and profiles in the network. But this function is accessed only when users are logged into their Google account. After the launch of this feature, users will able to see a new button on their search result page, that will allow them to select and browse between both the results – results from the web and from the new option.

The main two new features present in this update that tend to impact Search marketing and SEO are –

1] Now the search results feature results of both – people and brand pages. This will increase competition for sure.

2] Personal results included in search results will include searcher’s own content as well as content others have shared with the searcher. Moreover, this will be available exclusively for that searcher, so the SERP’s of everyone would be different.

This feature will be available for the Google+ users over next few days. This will totally change the way the search engine is working currently as more importance will be given to Google+. -          If you want to find the online information of a friend thru Google+ then by typing a friend’s name into search box you will able to see their G+ profiles as an autosuggestion. Once you click an auto suggested name, the friend’s profile and other related information will be shown on the search result page.

-          This feature incorporates recommended and shared content or sites from the people you are connected with on G+.  And so adding new people can reveal the content such as interesting blogs, etc which otherwise you cannot see. Also, you can create new circles with profiles of same interests; so that whenever they share something on G+, it will be displayed on your search results.

With this update, a large transformation of Google will be seen which is – now the search carried out by Google will also understand people and relationships in addition to content. This will equip users to more frequently discuss the subject they are interested in.
